What are people saying about John?

Wilmot finally has an opportunity to make a positive change for the future. With extensive financial experience, and a passion for culture, John Jordan will bring a new level of transparency, accountability and thriving culture to Wilmot Township.

We are SO fortunate to have an individual of this capacity willing to serve in public office here, and I encourage everyone to learn more, meet John Jordan and vote for CHANGE!

 - John Bailey - New Hamburg

John is a very caring and loving family person. He is very passionate in everything he does and does it with an intelligent approach. I couldn't think of a more better candidate for Mayor than John!

 - Ross Schoonderwoerd - Wilmot Township

John is a visionary who will represent his constituents very well as the Mayor of Wilmot.  His presence will be a breath of fresh air indeed.

 - Patrick Leahey - Waterloo

I know John professionally, his financial training and extensive business experience will bring a highly relevant skill-set to the position of Mayor. Additionally, John’s wife of 32 years, Kathie, who is a successful New Hamburg businessperson and active in the community, will make for a strong and supportive “First Lady”.

John is an open-minded, knowledgeable and approachable person. He is of outstanding character and a committed family-man at heart. He possesses all the key attributes to be your next Mayor.

On October 22nd, vote John Jordan for Mayor of Wilmot Township.

My name is Stephen Tisdall and I strongly endorse John Jordan to be the next Mayor of Wilmot Township.

My name is Aaron Fewkes and I have had the pleasure of calling New Hamburg my home, for my entire life. I’ve grown up here, I’ve worked here, and I live here. This October, I’m happy to share that I will be supporting and voting for John Jordan for Mayor of Wilmot Township.

There are a number of reasons I will be voting for John in the upcoming municipal election:

#1 - John has the energy that I feel is necessary to represent the people of Wilmot. We are a diverse group of people. We are young families with kids in sports (maybe you’re new to the rural landscape, in which case welcome). We are farming families who have been working Wilmot lands for a very long time. Wilmot has senior communities rich with life and artistic people who value all forms of culture. The diversity goes on and on. This Fall, I’m voting for the candidate who will be getting out into the community, knocking on doors, displaying that high energy required to truly understand and represent everyone in Wilmot. That person is John.

#2 - Having personally run for election the past two opportunities in 2010 and 2014, my “Refreshing Wilmot” campaign always operated under the idea that “politics shouldn’t be political.” Personally, I’m a pretty objective person. In knowing John personally and professionally, I have come to love his sense of objectivity too. To me, representing people through government needs to be done in this way. I want someone who will be an advocate for the things I’m passionate about - like arts and local community theatre. I want someone who will ask intentional, pointed questions in my best interest, regardless of their personal background or history. I want a mayor that will step back and see people’s perspective without judgement. Afterall, councillors and the mayor are just that: advocates of the people; a check and balance of sorts. I’m confident in speaking with and knowing John that he will be THAT advocate for community groups, businesses and individual people.

Finally - I’m voting for John because of his background in financial planning. I believe that he has the best work experience required to keep our Township debt free while investing back into our community. His experience with planning people’s money gives him a unique perspective to look well into the future for Wilmot and it’s residents. Simply stating “we’re debt-free” is no longer acceptable for me. I want someone who will maintain that debt-free status while investing back into the people; let’s tout our return on investment! We are a great bunch of “country folk” and while we are humble, we can also afford to build capacity within and develop a welcoming Wilmot brand. With his background in financial planning, John understands this balance best.

It is on those grounds - and more - that I will be campaigning and voting for John Jordan. He is a great friend and comes highly recommended. On October 22nd, VOTE JOHN JORDAN, Mayor of Wilmot Township.
